About Christina Dennaoui

After acquiring two degrees in anthropology and religion, I opted for a sabbatical from academic life. For those who are interested, I studied internet censorship practices, Islam and discourses of morality in the Middle East. I was particularly interested in ideas of religious authority and expertise and their relationship to emerging media platforms (e.g., Twitter, blogs, etc).

In my post-graduate school life, I work as an online search marketing strategist for a digital marketing agency. I create global search marketing strategy for a Fortune 50 client in the tech space across 11 business groups and 32 global markets. In my non-agency life, I’m an artist and a musician. I am also on the Associate Board of the Center on Halsted, a LGBTQ community center in Chicago and one of the largest of its kind in the United States.
